Kaley Carpenter

Professional Counselor Associate

Supervisor: Jamie Watson, MA, LMFT, RPT-S (License #T1016)

Currently accepting new clients. I work with children and adolescents (ages 3+)

All people have the capacity for growth, healing and wellness. I aspire to provide my clients with a safe, warm and comforting space in the therapy room. Through our collaborative work, my hope is that you will develop coping skills to help navigate life’s difficulties, build resilience, and cultivate a deeper awareness of yourself. My clinical experience has been serving children and utilizing play therapy, EMDR and taking a holistic approach to therapy. Past experiences, attachment, and familial relationships are important to therapy work, though my main focus in the therapy room is a strengths-based and present-focused approach. While in the counseling room, I will focus on mindfulness, attuning to both myself and my client and keeping our work focused on the here-and-now and bring awareness to the client’s emotional state.

I see individuals and primarily work with children and adolescents. I will utilize different play therapy techniques, along with EMDR. Overall, my approach is integrative and I enjoy tailoring my therapeutic work to the specific needs and development of my client.

A little about me is that I was born and raised in Portland and am a big Portland Timbers & Thorns soccer fan! In my free time I also love reading, going on walks, and enjoying coffee with friends and family.
